"Constituent Assembly was inevitable"-Koirala

Kathmandu:

Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala Saturday said that election to the second Constituent Assembly was inevitable.



Speaking at a programme organized by NC Lamjung-1 in Kathmandu, Koirala viewed that the election must be held on November 19 to end political crisis.

He said that delay in the election could pose a threat to the country stability.

“So, no one can thwart the election as it is inevitable to save country’s identity” he said.

The NC chief reiterated that China, India, European Union and the international community was pressing for election.
Koirala said that the government was pulled out preparing for election and people are encouraged on it.
Koirala said that corruption in local bodies has been rising due to absent of people’s representatives since long.
NC spokesperson Dilendra Prasad Badu said that election opposing CPN-Maoist will participate in election.
He said that discussion could not be held avoiding election matter as poll was issue not pre-condition.
Badu expressed suspect that there could be conspiracy against the election from outside the country and inside the country.
“However, upcoming election is decisive for democracy” he said.
The spokesperson underlined need of writing constitution by participating in election by all.
During program NC Lamjung Chairman Bishnu Dhital, Ram Chandra Adhikari, Ram Bahadur Gurung, Tulasi Narayan Shrestha and other expressed their views.
The programme organized under the slogan-'Let's Go to District for CA Elections.
During programme Koirala awarded to Bishwo Hindu Mahasang Nepal newly chairman Ram Chandra Adhikari and Community Library Committee chairman Ganesh Neupane.
