Kathmandu:

The government has, once again, formally invited the 33 poll-opposing parties including CPN-Maoist to come to the negotiation table.

A cabinet meeting held at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar on Thursday appealed the dissident parties to resolve their differences over the Constituent Assembly election through dialogue and take part in the election process.

The government has welcomed the formation of a dialogue committee by CPN-Maoist led by party chairman Mohan Baidhya, said Minister for Information and Communications and government spokesperson Madhav Poudel after the cabinet meeting.

The High Level Political Committee (HLPC) of four major political forces had also sent written invitation to the parties for the talks on Wednesday.

The meeting decided to let the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) open its branch offices in all the five development regions at Dipyal, Surkhet, Pokhara, Hetauda and Dhankuta.

The meeting, however, did not make any decision regarding the promotion of joint secretaries to fill up the vacant posts of government secretaries.

The government has promoted Colonel under technical post Sharad Lal Shrestha of Infrastructure Development Directorate of Nepal Army. The government approved UK visit of Chief of Army Staff Gen. Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana to be commenced from September 6-12.
The cabinet decided to provide residential visas to 16 dependent family members of specialized foreign doctors working at Patan Health and Science Academy.
The government has approved the resignation tendered by Dr. Krishna Prasad Pant as first class officers at Agriculture Department. He has resigned from the post on July 17.  The government approved America visit led by Secretary at the Ministry of Local Development to take part in a conference on solid waste energy production.
The cabinet endorsed a draft prepared on the National Trauma Centre Development Committee. It has decided to send two directives prepared for proper management of migrant workers and licenses of manpower agencies to a concerned committee under the cabinet for further discussions.  The government formed a committee to carry out study about lands that were acquired by the government for the expansion of Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve.
