Kathmandu:

Finance Minister Shaknar Prasad Koirala Friday stressed the need of introducing online services in the government offices and departments to deliver effective services to the service seekers.

Inaugurating the newly constructed IT Building of the Office of Company Registrar (OCR) here, Minister Koirala hoped that implementation of  the online service of OCR would help the customers to save their time and cost.

"People can receive reliable services from the online system," he said.

The OCR has been providing online services to the business and corporate houses for the last six months. It has been providing online services in the areas of registering the company and renewing it among others.

Koirala, who is also looking after the portfolios of the Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Commerce and Supplies, urged the other departments and offices operating under the government to introduce the online services as a modal project in the days to come for providing effective and reliable services to the customers.

The government was committed to providing support to the OCR for strengthening its capacity and enhancing the skills of its employees, he said.

Stating that the government was effortful to create a business friendly environment in the country, he said that the positive step taken by the OCR would be a big help for the government.

He thanked the IFC for supporting the OCR in implementing the online services and hoped that it would continue its support in the future.
