Tulsipur (Dang), Sept. 10: The locals of Goltakuri VDC in the district are facing acute shortage of drinking water for years now.
Most of the villages in the area
lack drinking water facility, complained locals. The sources of rivers,
rivulets and spring go dry in winter and summer seasons leading to the acute
shortage of drinking water.
The VDC has been allocating the budget for
constructing drinking water projects, but that is not enough, the locals
complained.
The running projects are in limbo
due to lack of necessary budget. Some Rs. 3 million has been spent on the
drinking water project at Sarkitole in the VDC but the project is still
incomplete, locals said.
Some 13,000
people live in the VDC. The VDC lies 15 kilometers far from Tulsipur bazaar.
