Five persons including three children die in Sindhupalchowk

Chautara, Sept. 10: Five persons including three children died in separate incidents at Dhuskun and Chokati VDCs in Sindhupalchowk district Monday night.

            Man Bahadur Bohara, 72, of Dhuskun-6 and his seven-year-old granddaughter Isha Bohara died after landslides buried the cowshed while they were sleeping there.

            Similarly, Dhanmaya Thami, 25, of Chokati VDC, her seven-year-old daughter Lalita Thami and two-year-old daughter Laxmi Thami died after they were swept away by the Sunkoshi Khola (stream), according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Bharat Bahadur Bohara. Dhanmaya was pregnant.

            The stream swept them away while crossing it when they were returning home from Dhanmaya's parental house after celebrating Teej festival.

            All of the bodies have been recovered, said police.
