National Taekwondo Festival in offing

Tansen, Sept. 10: A National Taekwondo Festival is to be held in Tansen, the headquarters of Palpa district, on September 13 and 14.
Nepal International Taekwondo Federationis organising the
festival dubbed as Eighth Choi Memorial ITF Taekwondo Festival. The event is
being organised to the memory of the late General Choi Hong-hee, the originator
of taekwondo.
Nepal ITF has been organising taekwondo championship
every year on the occasion of the Choi Memorial Day.
Eighty-one clubs of 30 districts from all the five
development regions and the departmental teams are participating in the
championship festival.
The competition would be held in five departments as
sparring, pattern, self-defence, special technique and power breaking. One
hundred and four gold and silver medals and 140 bronze medals are up for grabs.
A total of 650 players will compete in the championship.
